There is a kind of growth that does not announce itself.
It does not arrive with a moment.
It does not come with a sudden shift.
It unfolds… slowly… faithfully… over time.
And in a world that celebrates instant change…
God often chooses a different way.
In 2 Timothy 1:5 (KJV), we are given a glimpse into a life shaped not by a single moment… but by a steady foundation:
“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice…”
Before Timothy ever led…
before he ever stepped into responsibility…
faith was already growing within him.
Timothy’s story is not one of dramatic interruption like Paul’s.
It is one of consistent formation.
Faith passed down.
Truth lived out.
Growth that was cultivated, not rushed.
And when the time came…
he was ready.
Not because he forced it…
But because he had been formed in it.
Not all growth is visible.
Not all progress is immediate.
Many women feel discouraged because they do not see quick change.
They compare their quiet growth…
to someone else’s visible breakthrough.
And they begin to wonder:
“Am I really growing?”
Timothy reminds us:
Faith that lasts… is often built slowly.
The Lie:
“If I am not changing quickly, something must be wrong.”
This lie creates:
It pushes women to rush what God is patiently developing.
Target the Lie:
“My progress is too slow to matter.”
Replace with Truth:
God values steady growth over sudden change.
Understand Its Meaning:
Timothy’s faith was not weak because it was gradual.
It was strong because it was rooted.
Turn It into a Declaration:
“I am growing in truth, even when I do not see it immediately.”
Hold It in Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust the process You are working in me.
Where have you been expecting immediate change…
instead of honoring steady growth?
What areas of your life show quiet progress…
that you may have overlooked?
Growth does not always feel like progress.
Sometimes it feels like repetition.
Consistency.
Small, faithful steps.
But over time…
Those steps become strength.
Lasting change is built through repetition and reinforcement.
Neural pathways strengthen over time—not through one decision…
but through consistent practice.
God’s design reflects this truth:
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…” — 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
Growth is not rushed.
It is cultivated.
This week, take steady steps:
Faith grows where it is faithfully practiced.
You have:
Now…
You learn to remain steady in the process.
Timothy did not become who he was overnight.
He became who he was…
because he kept walking.
Faithfully.
Quietly.
Consistently.
You do not need to rush what God is growing.
Because what is built slowly…
Often lasts the longest.
I am growing steadily in truth.
I trust God’s timing in my life.
I remain faithful in the process.
“She is clothed with strength and honour; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)
