🔄 From Stuck to Steady:

By Coach Sandra | Life Coach for Ladies | Truth Mindset™ Strategist

"You do not have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." – Zig Ziglar

We all have them—those little habits that started small but now feel like cement.
Whether it is procrastination, negative self-talk, mindless scrolling, unhealthy eating, or skipping time with God, bad habits can quietly pull us off course from the life we are called to live.

As Christian women, we are not called to live in cycles of defeat. We are called to renew our minds, walk in truth, and cultivate habits that reflect who we are in Christ.

But how do we do that practically?

It starts with awareness, a Truth Mindset™, and spirit-led strategy.

🔄 Why Habits Matter (and Why They Are Hard to Break)

Habits are automated behaviors—actions we do with little thought because they have been repeated over time.
But just because something is automatic does not mean it is permanent.

Bad habits are often rooted in:

  • Emotional avoidance

  • False beliefs (e.g., "I deserve this," "It is too hard to change")

  • Past patterns of coping

The good news? You were created with the power to choose—and to change.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life...” – Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

🧰 Coaching Tool: Habit Tracking + Behavior Change Coaching

In my Truth Mindset™ Coaching, we use a simple but powerful tool: Habit Tracking.

Tracking brings awareness. And awareness brings change.

You cannot change what you do not see.

✍️ How It Works:

  • We identify the habits currently working against your well-being and purpose.

  • We uncover the lie-locked beliefs driving those habits.

  • We replace those lies with truth and develop a strategy to build new habits that align with God’s Word.

  • We use a daily tracker to build momentum, celebrate wins, and renew your commitment.

  •

🙅‍♀️ 3 Lies That Fuel Bad Habits

❌ Lie: “I’ve always been this way.”

Truth: You are not bound by your past. God is doing a new thing.

“Remember ye not the former things... behold, I will do a new thing.” – Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)

❌ Lie: “One little slip does not matter.”

Truth: Small actions repeated daily shape your future.

“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines...” – Song of Solomon 2:15 (KJV)

❌ Lie: “I can change later.”

Truth: Now is the time. Delayed obedience is disobedience.

“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” – Proverbs 27:1 (KJV)

🌟 What Does a Transformed Habit Life Look Like?

When you surrender your habits to God and begin to track them intentionally, you will:

  • Wake up with clarity and purpose

  • Feel in control of your choices

  • Strengthen your walk with God through consistency

  • Feel energized instead of exhausted

  • Stop letting old patterns sabotage your future

You move from reacting to life to leading your life.

“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” – Proverbs 25:28 (KJV)

🔁 5 Faith-Based Strategies to Break Bad Habits

1. Replace, Do Not Just Remove

You cannot just “stop” a bad habit. You must replace it with something positive and life-giving.

Example: Replace nighttime scrolling with 5 minutes of Scripture reading.

2. Start Small and Stack Wisely

Use the principle of habit stacking—link a new habit to an existing one.

Example: After brushing your teeth, say your morning Truth Declaration™ out loud.

3. Make It Visual

Use a habit tracker to see your progress. Visual cues create accountability and motivation.

4. Invite the Holy Spirit into Your Process

Ask God to help you notice patterns, give strength in weak moments, and convict—not condemn—when you fall short.

5. Speak Truth Daily

Renew your mind with Truth Declarations™ rooted in Scripture.

💬 Truth Declarations™ to Overcome Bad Habits

  • “I am not controlled by my flesh. I walk in the Spirit.” – Romans 8:1

  • “I am being transformed by the renewing of my mind.” – Romans 12:2

  • “I have power, love, and a sound mind. I make wise choices.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

  • “I am disciplined, focused, and faithful in the little things.” – Luke 16:10

✨ Final Encouragement

Habits do not change overnight. But they do change—one faithful step at a time.

You are not weak.
You are not stuck.
You are not too late.

You are a daughter of the King with the power to choose a better way.
You can break free from the bad habits that have held you back and step into a lifestyle of discipline, joy, and peace—not by your strength, but by God's grace.

Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”
